Insanity of Motherhood

Motherhood, marriage, and midlife.

It’s a Surprise

A conversation between a little boy and a mother.

“Momma,  we’re back from the store.” – Little Boy

“Oh.  Did you and Daddy get all the shopping done?” – Mom

“Uh huh.  Daddy says I can’t tell you what we bought for your birthday.  It’s a surprise.” – Little Boy

“I understand.  I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what you and daddy bought me.” – Mom

“You’re gonna love your bubble bath and lotion.  It’s smells like lemon, your favorite.” – Little Boy

“Um…okay.  I can’t wait to find out what my present will be.” – Mom

“You have to wait until tomorrow.” – Little Boy

The world’s cutest litte boy.

  1. What a cute little sweetie!!
Last Christmas my son did the same thing to me, except he realized that he had blurted it out, and started crying because he knew he had spoiled the surprise!! Awww, I just love sweet little boys. 🙂

  2. How cute! I remember about 50 years ago taking my little brother Christmas shopping with me. When we got home he told my mother, ” I can’t tell you what we bought you for Christmas. You can guess, but don’t guess candles.”

  3. He clearly has a future in espionage!
    Enjoy your present.

  4. Kids are so great at things like that.

  5. My little guys know I hate surprises. I always worm out what’s inside the package despite their resolve.
