A conversation between a mother and a teenage son.
“You look nice today. What a handsome guy you are. I love you buddy.” – Mom
“I know.” – Tall Boy
“Excuse me? You know?” – Mom
“Oh, I mean thank you.” – Tall Boy
“And?” – Mom
“And what?” – Tall Boy
“Isn’t there something else you want to say?” – Mom
“No.” – Tall Boy
“No? You sure?” – Mom
“Yeah I’m sure. Wait, there is something…I love you too, Mom” – Tall Boy
Finally, the right answer.
That’s a bright boy you have there.
Takes a while, but he gets it eventually.
This resembles a conversation at my house with my oldest son (who is 10)! Raising boys is a challenge!
Amen! Who knew boys would be so tough?
It might be quicker if you give him the script beforehand next time.
I have given him the same script for years…he is not a quick study.
I’m just glad my son has grown out of the “wiping kisses off him” stage.. This is cute!!
Kisses and hugs are done only at home. Tall Boy is in middle school.
