Lazy Cook – Summer Fizzies

Looking through Sunset Magazine, I came across a drink for the lazy cook blog.   The problem was the recipe suggests to peel, cut and purée a melon. It was too much work.  So I improvised.  I substituted the purée melon with mango nectar and created a magnificent drink.   See for yourself.

By the way, Sunset, made the drink without alcohol.  But add a little vodka, and you have fruity cocktail.

Summer Frizzies


Mango nectar (any flavor of nectar will do)

Mineral water or club soda

Vodka (optional)


1.  Pour juice into clean ice-cube trays.

2.  Freeze until set.

3.  Divide frozen cubes among four glasses.

4.  Pour mineral water over cubes.

5.  Add 1 ounce vodka  (optional).

This lovely drink was served with our favorite take out dinner.  Lazy all around.
